Itinerary: 7 Days / 6 Nights Northern Spain Adventure

Northern Spain is home to dramatic coastlines, lush mountains, and rolling hills. The region boasts stunning beaches, mountains offer hiking, skiing, and breath-taking views. The countryside feels untouched by time, making it a paradise for nature lovers. The Basque Country is famous for its pintxos (small tapas-style dishes). Here is how you can explore Northern Spain in 7 Days!

This time, we explore North of Spain which consists of entering into Barcelona, passing thru the town of Zaragoza and towards Bilbao. The beautiful town of La Rioja and Logrono is a hidden gem. After which, the trip takes us down South to Madrid, passing thru the town of Segovia. The trip is capped off with a day trip out to Toledo before returning back to Spain capital, Madrid for the flight home.

Day 1:  Barcelona 

1230H: Arrive Barcelona

1400H: Explore Poble Espanyol (known as Spanish Village)

1600H: Visit Casa Batlló & Casa Milà

1800H: Dinner

Day 2:  Barcelona – Montserrat – Barcelona 

 1000H: Visit Sagrada Familia

1200H: Visit Park Guell

1400H: Drive from Barcelona – Montserrat (60km/ 1hour)

1500H: Arrive Montserrat

1700H: Drive from Montserrat – Barcelona (60km/ 1hour)

1800H: City tour around Barcelona , explore Las Ramblas shopping street

Day 3:  Barcelona – Zaragoza – Bilbao

0830H: Drive from Barcelona – Zaragoza (310km / 4 hour 30 mins)

1300H: Arrive Zaragoza , lunch

1400H: Visit Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar  and Old Town area

1500H: Drive from Zaragoza – Bilbao (300km / 4 hour 30 mins)

Day 4:  Bilbao 

0900H: Depart from Bilbao to San Juan De Gaztelugatxe

1000H: Arrive San Juan De Gaztelugatxe , made famous by Game of Thrones. The rocky coastline, makes for a really impressive sight.

1030H: Drive to Bermeo town

1100H: Explore Bermeo town

1130H: Drive from Bermeo – Bilbao

1230H: Head to the highest point of Bilbao , Monte Artxanda. View the town of Bilbao

1430H: Guggenheim Museum to explore

1600H: Explore old quarter of Bilbao

1730H: Sample Pintxos, small snacks or appetizers that originated in Spain and are especially popular in the Basque Country

Day 5:  Bilbao – Laguardia- La Rioja 

0900H: Drive from Bilbao – La Rioja (114km/ 2 hour)

11100H: Wine tasting at the many wineries around Laguardia

1530H: Drive from Laguardia – La Rioja (18km/ 30 mins)

Day 6:La Rioja – Segovia – Madrid
