1. Japanese beaches are very clean

Japan is renowned for its cleanliness. It is very unlikely that one will get to spot litter on Japan’s streets because locals are used to taking their trash home. The same goes for many of its beaches. There are currently  managed 12 Blue Flag- certified beaches across the country, which means they are clean, safe, and suitable for all visitors including children. Sunbathing and swimming is always more enjoyable when one do not have to worry about coming in contact with any viruses due to litter or polluted waters.

2. Many Japanese beaches have unique views

Beach holidays are always more enjoyable when it has a stunning backdrop. Not to be disappointed, many of Japan’s beaches are spectacular and have very unique views. Miho Beach in Shizuoka is a great example. The iconic sight of Mount Fuji looms in the distance behind rugged, forest-covered hills that roll towards the coast. Japan is a mountainous island with 111 volcanoes, and its rugged landscape serves as an impressive backdrop to its white and golden sand beaches.

3. Japan’s varied climate offers idyllic beach weather

Many people think of Japan as having fairly mild weather and wonder whether they will be warm enough on a beach holiday. However, the truth is that the climate varied. Its northernmost region, where the snow-capped mountains of Hokkaido are found, is subarctic. 2,000 miles south, where the Okinawa Islands are located, the climate is subtropical. It is here whereby some of Japan’s best beach resorts lie.

One can expect pristine white sands, bright blue waters, and ample opportunities for swimming and snorkelling. Even if one visit the more temperate beaches near the capital city of Tokyo, you can expect warm enough temperatures for swimming and sunbathing during July and August.

4. Japan is renowned for its phenomenal food

Japan is considered one of the world’s best destinations for foodies, not only because its native cuisine is so tasty, but also because the quality of its food is consistently high. Traditional dishes like sushi, okonomiyaki, yakitori, miso, udon , soba noodles and sukiyaki are renowned the world over because they are delicious, and there is no better place to try them than in Japan itself.

However, it is also a great place to eat cuisines from other countries because chefs apply the shokunin (‘craftsman’ or ‘artisan’) spirit to ensure every dish is made with the utmost care and the freshest, best-quality ingredients. When you choose Japan for a beach holiday, you’re almost guaranteed to experience exceptional food.
