Hotel review on my recent stay at M Social Hotel in Singapore, which turns out a pleasant one. In fact, with so many hotels located in the hottest nightlife district, Clarke Quay, this is one of the value for worth hotel to stay in! The room rate is not that steep considering it being equivalent to around 4 star hotel standard, selling on average at SGD$160 per night.
For certain reasons, there seems to be a lot of “M” hotels in Singapore. Thus, do not be confuse to the hotel review here on M Social, with the word “Social” behind it. There is a “M Hotel” located in Shenton Way, another hotel name “Studio M” is in Clarke Quay area. Should you using the GPS to navigate your way or taking a cab to the hotel, ensure you note the word “Social” is written. Correct name: “M Social Hotel”.
Service: 3.5 /5
I would rate the service as average, reason being I feel there is room for improvement yet at the same time. Friendly smile from the hotel reception each time I walked pass the lobby. However, there was this one time which I was made to wait more than 3 minutes even thou there were not anyone in the queue. For the 2 nights stay, I turned on the ” Do Not Disturb” sign. The housekeeping team was rather awesome to still check on us if we needed any change of towels, refill of water bottles. Do note that I stay in this hotel in July 2021 period, where Covid is still posing a very serious threat. This hotel is designated as one of the Stay Home Notice (SHN), highlighted by the fact of the segregation and arrangements found within the premises. It is listed on the SHA website as well.
Comfort: 3/5
I stayed in the lead in room category: Alcove Cosy Queen. The beds are not huge to start with thou I reckon it is a queen size bed. The pillows are small with total of 4 of it in the room. For bed wise, I find it can be slightly harder to give one a better feel. Room size is at 19 sqm, rather standard hotel size for the lead in room category. I love the design of the room with the fact that it has high ceiling, a plus point to make the interior room seems bigger.
The next category room: Loft Premier is definitely a better bet to stay in, at around SGD$100 more expensive than Alcove Queen room.
However, with it being 2 level, it makes an ideal stay with the first floor being the “living room” with TV and sofa setting. The upper floor is purely to sleep in.
Food: 4/5
There is a wide range of food found within the hotel vicinity. Just less than 500 meters, one can find restaurants offering international cuisine ranging from India to Belgium. If you like seafood or Korean dishes, you will not be disappointed. Moreover, just a stone throw away lies Clarke Quay, Singapore famous nightlife district filled with bars. Have your craving satisfied till the late hours. One of my recommendation is to try the famous Hong Kong food chain: Tsui Wah.
If Japanese buffet including free flow of sashimi is your preferred food choice, I recommend trying : Ikoi Japanese Restaurant, located at Hotel Miramar. Be warn of the long queue be it for lunch or dinner, hence strongly suggest to do a phone booking before hand.
Amenities: 4/5
The swimming pool is awesome with it being long to accommodate lap swims. In additional, there are 2 wading areas on each end making it a perfect swim session. There is gym on the same floor, however equipment are limited.
Overall, the stay at M Social Hotel Singapore is comfortable. I would recommend it if you are looking for a budget option in Clarke Quay area and the location is away from the crowd yet allow one to enjoy great choice of food in the area. If you are looking for more other hotel review, click here.
