Craving for authentic and delicious food? Look no further than Malaysia which definitely able to satisfy one cravings. Here’s a look of the foods found in different parts of West Malaysia.
Johor Bahru: Pig Blood Soup, something one cannot find in Singapore due to hygiene issues it presents. You can now get it here, less than an hour drive from Singapore!
Kulai: Located roughly 45 minutes away from Johor Bahru City, Kulai is a sleepy town yet buzzing with great food stalls in the night. Some of the must eat in this town include BBQ Squid, Rojak. Of course, if you can stomach it in, take in all other food such as Deep Fried Chicken Wings, one of the best in town!
Kukup: Located in the Johor state, a popular seaside chalet type accommodation frequent by Singaporeans. Previously, I had shared on what to do in Kukup. Beside, the fresh seafood comes at a reasonable price.
Segamat: The Malaysian Wanton Noodles are famous and one of the best to have it would be in Segamat. The springy noodles & black sauce complement each other so well that would leave you craving for more.
Kulai Pilah: An hour south from Kuala Lumpur, lies a small town: K.Pilah. There are many good food treasures found here. Usually, in Singapore it is cooked with herbs and eat with rice. However, in this town, the turtle (terrapin) is cooked with noodles soaked in the flavorful soup.
Tanjong Sepat: Used to eating Bak Kut Teh (Pork Rib Soup)? Why not try adding in seafood into it… You can have it now at Tanjong Sepat, a fishing village and also a small town in Kuala Langat district in Selangor, Malaysia.
Malacca: The first food that usually comes to mind would be the mind blowing Chendol.
Penang: Food from this area do not require much introduction, often seen as the food paradise in West Malaysia. Too much food, but too little time to try it all out. The must try include: Penang Laska (Fish based soup), Penang Char Kway Teow
Ipoh: The famous food nonetheless include the fat Bean Sprouts and the Ipoh Chicken.
