Essential Guide to Bali

Bali, one of the world well known resort that is suitable for all ages. There are simply too many things to do, catering for each different age group. Bali is surrounded by Indian Ocean, Lombok Strait, Bali Sea.

Types of Activities

Cooking Classes: From going to the market, choosing ingredients and herbs, learning the authentic cooking methods, there are so many cooking classes available in different region of Bali. The favourite menu foreigners love to learn is the chicken curry, Babi Guling and herbal drinks.

Adventure:  Be it trekking, hiking, camping adventure, water rafting, cycling, all can be done on Bali Island. The usual area for activities to be conducted are at Mount Batur, West Bali National Park, Mount Agung. One may see the active volcanoes, experience hot spring and being close to endangered tropical birds.

Water Activities: Snorkeling, Diving, Banana Boat, Jet Skiing, Wake Boarding, Underwater Scooter… All can be done in Bali Island easily.

Food 

Ayam Betutu: It is steamed or roasted chicken wrapped in banana leaves. The chicken is stuffed with bay and cassava leaves. The side dishes are crispy fired peanuts and sambal.

Babi Guling: Suckling Pig or what is known as Babi Guling by the locals, this is a must try dish! Crispy pork skin, blood sausage, pork crackers and sweet pork sate. Usually, it is accompanied with pork bone soup and served with white rice.

Nasi Campur: Bali most prominent dish, consists of white rice with boiled egg, sauteed vegetables, stir fried watercress, ayam betutu. Usually accompanied with sambal chilli and served with fried tempeh in sweet & sour sauce.

Kuah Pindang: Traditional fruit and vegetable salad dipped in a dark broth of pindang fish. Jack fruit, cucumber, pineapple, mango covered with spicy palm sugar sauce , creating a sour taste giving one an unforgettable experience.

When to go? 

Indonesia basically have 2 main seasons: Wet or Dry.

Rainy season is from October to April. Dry season is from May till September.

Best month for clear water diving: April, May, September, November.
